The first
International Conference of Research and Graduate Studies Deans in the Arab world
at the conclusion of its work in the Al-Aqsa University in Gaza declared for
the formation of "Scholars Association for Palestine" and aim to
support scientific research so as to enhance its role and contribute to the
cognitive development in Palestine.

The Conference elected Prof.Dr Shaker Rizk
Taqi El-Din of the Suez Canal University in Egypt as President
of the Association Council and announced in both the Islamic University Al
Azhar University and the Palestine University for contributing to Foundation
Fund of the Association which includes all members participating in the
conference as founding members of the Association.

And
decided to hold the Second International Conference on Scientific Research of
next year at the Suez Canal University and University holds the preparations
for the conference under the auspices of the Arab Union of Universities which
will continue to implement the recommendations of the conference and to work
for the advancement of scientific research and graduate studies for the
conference.

At
the same time Al-Aqsa University held a scientific agreement with the Suez
Canal University including the exchange of expertise and staff and the
organization of programs and joint scientific events.

    The
Conference recommended the establishment of a civilian authority of strategic
thinking including Arab and Islamic countries without exception to any scientific
party to expand the base of knowledge science the experience and the
possibilities of scientific progress and strengthening of relations between
scientific research institutions.
    The
conference also recommended the need to work to open the masters and doctoral
programs at Palestinian universities and supplying them with Arab scientific
cadres in the various disciplines required to suit the conditions of
accreditation body and the quality and the establishment of Al-Aqsa
Universitys Center for Social Studies and anthropological association with the
Suez Canal University

  The Conference called for the preparation of
its recommendations in a comprehensive plan for scientific research in each
university from the universities of the Arab countries; seek to achieve the
future vision of the University in the field of scientific research and
technological development.
    He
emphasized of the importance of activating the role of the official for the
advancement of scientific research through coordination between civil society
and formal systems in order to close the wide gap between the politicians
planners and implementers of development plans on the one hand and between
researchers and scientists who work in scientific centers of the other.
    He
stressed on the importance of establishing a Department of Graduate Studies
will be among its tasks the preparation of a comprehensive record of graduate
theses and make it available to all universities researchers and the
provision of laboratories equipment and tools necessary for scientific
research and to develop rules that ensure the efficiency of use.
    The
recommendations called for a review of teaching methods in graduate studies
and the adoption of methods that call for students to develop thinking and
mental abilities in Criticism and
creativity and the establishment a central library for postgraduate studies in
each university based indexing system and electronic library.
    The
recommendations called for every Arab university to establish centers for
research in different disciplines to be equipped with all appliances and
equipment necessary to conduct research experience and
that the university is working on the marketing of outputs of such research.
