About the Center

The Center for Environmental Studies and Consultation was established in 1988 by a decree of the Supreme Council of Universities as a center of research excellence. It aims to support environmental preservation efforts and maximize the use of Egypt’s water resources.
The center includes a multidisciplinary team from the Faculties of Science, Engineering, Medicine, and Agriculture, working in the fields of environmental monitoring, field and laboratory analysis, and applied environmental research.

Services and Activities

The center offers a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • Water analysis (physical, chemical, and microbiological) for various water sources and wastewater.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment studies for projects and facilities in collaboration with governmental and private entities.
  • Environmental consultations to solve problems related to water pollution and wastewater.
  • Professional training courses for technicians and specialists in the fields of water and environment.
  • Researcher support services such as access to lab equipment and microbial or natural compound testing.

  • Governmental Entities:
    Suez Canal Authority, Administrative Control Authority, Water and Wastewater Regulatory Agency.
  • Industrial Sector:
    Huahong Garment Factory, El-Sewedy Cables, Agrenatech Manufacturing, Seong Textile Company, and others.
  • Tourism Sector:
    Golden Jewel Resort and recreational complexes of the Suez Canal Authority.
  • Education and Community Sector:
    University dormitories, schools, hospitals, and postgraduate researchers.

Key Achievements and Projects

  • Completion of over 20 environmental assessment projects and water quality analyses from 2010 to 2025.
  • Development of innovative environmental solutions using nanotechnology and biological treatment units for industrial wastewater.
  • Registration of several environmental patents, including treatment units for industrial effluent biotreatment.
  • Design and operation of integrated treatment stations in factories such as the RoyalTex textile factory in Ismailia.
  • Continuous funding from the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) for national research projects.
