Suez Canal University welcomed a high-level Chinese delegation headed by Zhang Qiufeng, Director of the Seawater Desalination and Multi-Use Institute of the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources, to discuss ways of cooperation in several fields including scientific research, industry, and exchange of expertise between the two sides.

 

The Chinese Institute is one of the world’s leading institutions in the field of water desalination research, as it seeks to develop innovative technologies to meet the needs of countries suffering from water scarcity.

 

In this context, Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, stressed the importance of this visit, which comes within the framework of strengthening the close relations between the university and the Chinese side, noting that the relations between Suez Canal University and China are constantly growing, and this meeting is an important opportunity to enhance scientific and technological cooperation, especially in the field of water desalination, which represents a vital priority for Egypt. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, welcomed the Chinese delegation and pointed out that this visit reflects the mutual desire to develop joint research and scientific partnerships, expressing his aspiration to achieve more fruitful cooperation with the Chinese Seawater Desalination Institute, which will enable us to enhance our research capabilities and develop sustainable solutions to water challenges. Prof. Dr. Tamer Nabil, Dean of the faculty of the Egyptian-Chinese of Applied Technology, stressed that the meeting aims to build bridges of cooperation between the two institutions, noting that there is already cooperation in the fields of water desalination and energy recovery from desalination plants, stressing his full readiness to develop joint research with the Chinese Institute, especially in the fields of water desalination and integrated energy generation.
