Within the framework of the university’s strategy, headed by Prof.Dr. Nasser Mandour, Suez Canal University President, it is necessary to develop a distinct matrix of training courses that contribute to creating a state of health awareness among members of society.
In cooperation between the College of Medicine and the University’s Community Personnel Training Department, a training program on “Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation” was held on Saturday, 11May, at the Institute of Afro-Asian Studies for Postgraduate Studies, with the participation of 25 beneficiaries of the Institute’s master’s and doctoral students.
The program was held under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Saqqa, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Prof.Dr. Abeer Hagras, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
In the presence of Dr. Sahar Hassani Barbari, Dean of the Institute of Afro-Asian Studies, Prof.Dr. Sameh Saad, Vice-Dean of the Institute for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hassanein Al-Saeed, Vice-Dean of the Institute for Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Shahira Abdullah Ahmed, Coordinator of the Francophonie Program at the Institute.
The program was lectured by Dr. Nihal Shukri Ismail, assistant lecturer in emergency medicine at the College of Medicine, who confirmed that cardiopulmonary resuscitation is one of the most important first aid measures that must be learned, practiced, and its rules understood, as it is a lifeline in the event that the heart stops pumping blood.
Dr. Nihal Shukri provided practical training on how to recover and perform cardiac resuscitation, noting that it is a group of procedures that include heart massage (chest compression) and artificial respiration. It is a technique that aims to temporarily circulate oxygen in the blood in order to restore circulatory function and prevent death or brain damage. Due to lack of oxygen.
The program comes under the supervision of Engineer Wafa Imam, Director General of the General Administration of Environmental Projects, and Engineer Ahmed Ramadan, Director of the Community Members Training Department.
