Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, signed a joint memorandum of understanding with Yu Xiu University of Foreign Studies in Zhejiang Province, China. The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance academic exchange and scientific, cultural and educational cooperation.
The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research.
The Yu Xiu University delegation was represented by Dr. Xinju Yi, President of the University.
The delegation was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Hassan Ragab, Egyptian Executive Director of the Confucius Institute.
Before signing the memorandum of understanding, aspects of scientific and cultural cooperation between the two sides were discussed.
Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour also welcomed the Chinese delegation to Canal University, stressing that the Chinese experience is pioneering in the field of education.
Meanwhile, “Xinju Yi” stressed that the role of Suez Canal University is a pioneer in supporting scientific and cultural relations with China over more than 20 years.
The Chinese delegation included Professor Yan Jing, Dean of the University’s College of Oriental Languages, and Dr. Ma Xiaoming, Vice Dean of the College and Head of the Arabic Language Department.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul pointed out that this year the university received 20 Chinese expatriate students from Yu Xiu University to study the Arabic language, where the Chinese students spend a full semester for 3 months at the university, to improve their Arabic language skills.
It was agreed between the two sides to cooperate in the field of the following activities: faculty members exchange, joint student mobility programs, joint research and teaching activities, participation in international academic seminars and meetings, short-term special academic programs, and other programs of common interest.
While Prof. Dr. Hassan Ragab explained that the scientific and cultural program prepared by Suez Canal University for foreign students included visits to Egyptian cities and inspection of the most important tourist attractions there; With the aim of learning about Egyptian culture.
At the end of the signing ceremony, shields were exchanged between the presidents of the two universities. Emphasizing the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the two sides.
