The Times Higher Education
For the year 2023, it was announced yesterday, July 3, as the report indicated that the Suez Canal University came among the best 300 emerging universities internationally that were established within 50 years or less, and it also ranked fourth repeated at the level of Egyptian universities.
The university president confirmed that the distinguished ranking that the university recently obtained come as a result of the efforts of the faculty members, and the strategic plan of the university to pay attention to international classifications, international publishing and scientific research.
congratulated the university professors for this result, pointing to the sincere efforts made to achieve this achievement, stressing that the university will work to strengthen these advanced ranking in the future.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, indicated that the Times ranking of emerging universities for this year includes 605 universities worldwide, compared to 539 universities in 2022.
The vice president of the university added that the Times Higher Education classification showed that 16 emerging Egyptian universities were qualified to appear in this classification this year.
The vice president of the university praised the university’s support for the efforts of its scientists and researchers to advance scientific research, and to provide the appropriate environment for them in order to reach the desired goal, and the continuous progress in international rankings.
Dr. Sameh Saad, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, indicated that the classification of emerging universities is based on the basic tasks of universities, as the classification is based on the same 13 performance indicators that are used in the Times classification of leading international universities.
Dr. Ilham Al-Khawas, Head of the Classification Unit at the International Cooperation Office and a member of the International Publishing Center, explained that among these indicators are:
Scientific research, teaching, research citation rate, and international cooperation. Indices of knowledge transfer and international expectations were used, while weights were adjusted to give less weight to international reputation than last year, to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons.
