According to the presidential directives to keep pace with the technological revolution, and the digital transformation that Egypt and all countries of the world are witnessing – Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University stated that the university – within the framework of the state’s plan for sustainable development, and to prepare our students for the requirements of university study programs qualified for the labor market, which depends on technological development in all fields – the university organized a training course for pre-university students on artificial intelligence and computer vision; Appreciating the importance and necessity of the university’s societal role, joint cooperation with civil society institutions, and orientation to them.
The course was held under the general supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Zaki, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Fouad, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khairat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Lectured by Dr. Mohamed Magdy, a teacher in the Department of Electrical Engineering, on the nature of artificial intelligence, an introduction to it, the extent to which artificial intelligence is related to computer vision, the reason and how to use artificial intelligence and when to use it, with a presentation of some applications of artificial intelligence in various fields of work.
The training course benefited 122 male and female students from Al-Manar School in Ismailia, and its implementation was supervised by Accountant Amr Kishk, General Manager of Environmental Projects, and Engineer Ahmed Ramadan, Director of Community Training Department.
