prof. Atef Abu El-Nour, President of Suez Canal University, welcomed a delegation from the Azhar University in Indonesia. The delegation included prof. Osman Shehab, Cultural and Educational Counselor of Indonesia, prof. Faisal Hendra, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language, Al-Azhar University, Indonesia;
prof. Adel Al-Saadani, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Prof.Hassan Youssef, Dean of the Institute of Afro – Asian Studies at Suez Canal University
The visit aims to discuss means of cooperation between the two sides in the framework of discussing the joint cooperation agreement with Al-Azhar University in Indonesia
prof . Atef Abu Al-Nur pointed out that the relations between our university and the Indonesian universities have extended over many years, stressing that the university puts its full potential to the Indonesian students.
The university president added that the Al-Azhar universities are the lighthouse of moderate Islamic education and have a special character that distinguishes them
For his part, prof . Osman Shehab congratulated the university president on getting the first place – according to the assessment of the Times Hagher Education Institute – at the level of Egyptian universities. He stressed the Indonesian side’s keenness to increase the support of cooperation with a distinguished university, pointing to the importance of studying the Arabic language in the speaking countries.
At the end of the meeting, prof. Atef Abu El-Nour, President of Suez Canal University, gave the shield of the University of the Faculty of Arabic Language at Al-Azhar University in Indonesia for his first visit to the university.
For his part, prof. Faisal Hendra gave a souvenir gift bearing the university logo to Prof . Atef Abu Al-Nour and to Prof. Adel Al-Saadani Dean of the Faculty of Arts
