Suez Canal University

Suez Canal University has achieved a new prominent position on the global higher education map, following a remarkable leap in the 2026 QS Sustainability Rankings. This ranking, launched by QS, measures universities’ performance in addressing environmental and social challenges and governance standards.

 

This distinction is the result of systematic efforts and integration of academic, research, and community work within the university.

 

This year’s rankings included 2,002 universities worldwide, an increase of 257 institutions compared to last year. Among them were 83 African universities and 29 Egyptian universities, with Suez Canal University standing out as one of the top performers in the region.

 

The university made significant progress in the overall rankings, achieving 652nd place globally, a jump of 145 places from last year. It also ranked 12th in Africa, advancing eight places, and fifth among Egyptian universities, climbing four places. This reflects the university’s strong institutional commitment to supporting sustainability as a key pillar of its qualitative excellence. This progress is attributed to its outstanding performance across the three main ranking criteria.
